First, hand-tighten the screw fitting until snug. Then use a wrench to turn the fitting an additional 1 to 2 full turns. For side-mounted sensors, add one extra turn to achieve the desired orientation.
Does a float require cleaning?
We recommend preventative maintenance and cleaning where environments may have scale, debris, or coatings that may build up on the float switch assembly.
How can I control my pump or valve to maintain a range of liquids in my application?
Install a float switch controller, such as the MadisonSensor R2-120.
What is the accuracy of a single point float switch?
MadisonSensor stock float switches are accurate to within 1/8” of the center of the float travel, with a hysteresis of 1/16”.
What is its repeatability of a single point float switch?
Each individual switch will switch repeatably within 1/32”.
Is there a way to sense between two liquids?
MadisonSensor can furnish an interface float that is designed to sink in one liquid and float in another, allowing it to detect the level of only one of the liquids when two immiscible fluids are present. How can I make sure that the switch I choose has the correct specific gravity?
One of the main considerations when choosing a switch is the specific gravity of the float. To make sure the float will function properly in the application, the specific gravity of the fluid must be greater than the float's specific gravity at the maximum temperature range of the application. How can I connect my float level switch to a pump or valve while protecting it from the high current that these devices use?
MadisonSensor generally provides electrical ratings for resistive loads. When controlling devices such as motors, solenoids, or coils that produce capacitive or inductive loads, MadisonSensor recommends using general-purpose isolation relays or controllers to protect the switch.
